mm ink gift certificates - the gift that gives

Giving back is very important to me and my family, and it is something we want to do more of this year.  So with every MM Ink gift certificate purchase, 10% of the proceeds will be donated to WonderRoot, an Atlanta-based art organization that is committed to unite artists and the community to inspire positive social change.

The MM Ink gift certificate is a lovely letterpress square card and it can be used for any beautiful hand lettered item made just for your special friend or loved one...... calligraphy for invitations, envelope addressing, wedding reception and 'day of' stationery items, address stamps and more! It is such a unique and special gift that will also be doing good for the community - now that makes me smile!

Ordering is easy - simply email me at gifts{at}mminkstudio{dot}com with all of the details and I will hand letter your name, the recipient's name, and the amount in a lovely ink color of your choice!

happy friday: calligraphy for kris and james {part 1}

I am delighted to share a few sneak peeks of one of my favorite calligraphy projects last year - definitely one of my top 3 for sure! I did a very happy dance when Kristy of Momental Designs emailed me to work with her on a luxe invitation suite for NASCAR driver James Buescher and his lovely bride, Krishtian!

Using my Jasper calligraphy style as the inspiration for the design, I created a custom lettering style (which is now a Momental Designs Exclusive calligraphy style) that was used for the full invitation suite and other stationery pieces. Seeing my lettering with the amazing hand painted artwork done by Kristy and her awesome team was pure joy!

Kris and James' wedding was last week Saturday so stay tuned for {part 2} of this fabulous Costa Rican wedding planned by Tropical Occasions with live painting by Kristy (yes, live!!) and stunning photography by Jose Villa!

Congratulations Kris and James - it was so much fun working on this design for you!

Happy Friday!

envelope addressing: U.S. military titles

Several of my clients have asked for assistance with U.S. military titles when preparing their guest lists; so I thought it would be a good idea to start my envelope addressing series with a listing of some of the ranks of the major U.S. military branches of service. Envelopes for these guests should be addressed with full names and no abbreviated titles.

I hope this will be helpful when preparing your guest list!

U.S. ARMY
2LT - Second Lieutenant
1LT - First Lieutenant
CPT - Captain
MAJ - Major
LTC - Lieutenant Colonel
MG - Major General
LTG - Lieutenant General

U.S. NAVY
LTJG - Lieutenant Junior Grade
LT - Lieutenant
LCDR - Lieutenant Commander
CDR - Commander
VADM - Vice Admiral

U.S. AIR FORCE
Col - Colonel
Brig Gen - Brigadier General
GAF - General of the Air Force

U.S. MARINE
Cpl - Corporal
Sgt - Sergeant
SSgt - Staff Sergeant
GySgt - Gunnery Sergeant

happy friday: {MAG}rouge feature

One of my favorite online resources for wedding eye candy and inspiration is Magnolia Rouge, a lovely blog owned by one of New Zealand's finest stationery designers, Kate Holland. Her inspiration boards are so creative and I just love her new color story series that's all about styling props based on various color palettes - oh yeah!

Last month, Kate launched Magnolia Rouge's first online magazine called {MAG}rouge and boy is it filled with all things pretty! I had the pleasure of doing a few calligraphy pieces for the cover shoot which was beautifully styled with the magazine's first issue theme in mind - a road trip!

Happy Friday!

Thanks so much Kate and I am looking forward to the next issue!

calligraphy for Chaviano Couture's 2012 collection

2012 is here and I am so excited to get to work on my goals for the year! This year is extra special for MM Ink (more on that soon) and I cannot wait to grow, learn, achieve great things, be humbled, take risks, go the extra mile, and hit repeat many times over.

I am also really excited for one of the sweetest people I know - Annette Thurmon of Chaviano Couture who will be launching her 2012 bridal gowns and accessories collection really soon!

Annette and I met almost two years ago at the MTH2010 workshop and we have developed a wonderful friendship. She is so kind, genuine, down to earth, beautiful inside and out; and I admire her work ethic, love for God, and giving spirit. She is so talented and her gowns are just gorgeous! I know her new collection will be amazing and I enjoyed doing the calligraphy for the new line, including the collection's name "How Fair is Your Love."

Be sure to follow Annette on twitter, visit her website to see her beautiful gowns and check out her blog and Facebook page for updates and more news about the collection! By the way, that's Annette in the picture - I told you she's beautiful! Congrats again Annette and I know this collection will ROCK!
