happy friday: mm ink in occasions magazine: part 2

This week, I am so excited to share beautiful photos from the 2 Occasions Magazine style shoots that I had the pleasure of doing calligraphy for. If you missed the first one (city chic style), check it out here.

For the second style shoot, I worked with two of my favorite gals, Ashley Baber of Ashley Baber Weddings, and Lisa Hladish of Paper Daisies Stationery to help create fun, fresh and modern stationery items.  Emails and calls from these two talented and sweet ladies are the best; and they are always the beginning of what I know will be something fabulous! This shoot was just that, and Lisa did an amazing job (as usual) with the stationery designs and incorporating my calligraphy throughout. Here are some lovely photos from the shoot photographed by ArtStar Photography.

(Calligraphy for this feature: custom names and words/phrases for the invitation suite, flourished hand-drawn bird, 2-letter monogram, escort cards, and envelope addressing)

I love this cake by Sharon of Sweet Sensations! Hi Sharon!!!! :)

And one of the photos from this shoot made the cover!!!!!!!

I am so thankful for these opportunities to showcase my work and share my creative talents with some of the best in the industry! Special thanks to Ashley, Lisa and Occasions Magazine..... xoxoxo.

Happy Friday!

mm ink in occasions magazine: part 1

I am still all smiles about being featured in this Summer's issue of Occasions Magazine! This magazine is such a great resource for any social event; and the party style section is loaded with great ideas. For this issue, I had the pleasure of doing the calligraphy for two of the party style shoots. The first is a City Chic Summer Romance themed shoot with the awesome planner Michelle of Lemiga, Sarah with Foglio Press, and an amazing group of other vendors.

Michelle wanted a classic yet modern feel for the stationery pieces and with that in mind, Sarah (it was so great working with Sarah!) and I created lovely stationery pieces that captured both a summer romance and city chic vibe. Here are some stunning images from the shoot taken by Vue Photography.

(Calligraphy for the feature: custom names, words/phrases for the invitation suite, 2-letter monogram, envelope addressing, table numbers, names for place cards, and je t'aime sign)

happy friday: mm ink featured in munaluchi bride magazine

Munaluchi Bride's first digital magazine debuted on Tuesday and it is GORGEOUS - from cover to cover!!! Munaluchi Bride Magazine is a chic and stylish publication filled with tons of inspiration for women of color. I am so grateful to be featured in their first digital release! Here's a look at the feature (I think Amelia was born with a camera in her hand - such beautiful images :)

It was such a joy working with Lisa Hladish, Janie Medley, Dana FitzGerald and Amelia Johnson on such a fun project! I had a blast working with the team to help them bring their vision for the Oh Happy Day stationery to life through my lettering and Lisa's beautiful custom made stationery pieces.

I wanted to create lettering for the Oh Happy Day stationery pieces that was fun and included playful flourishes throughout. I started with hand lettering the bride and groom's names and adding fancy swirls to make them stand out. This became the inspiration for the rest of the calligraphy I did for the invitation, RSVP card, monogram and place card paper ribbons.

For the menu cards, I wanted to emphasize the idea of a celebration filled with excitement and cheer. So I really had fun with the lettering and incorporated lots of flourishing for the Menu header. The swirl banners for each course was a nice addition that also sparked the idea for the heart seals.

The super talented Lisa Hladish of Paper Daisies Stationery printed the calligraphy on beautiful custom cut paper she provided and assembled all of the stationery pieces. I love seeing my calligraphy on her beautiful stationery!

I think the stationery items are the perfect fit for a happy wedding day!

Happy Friday!

happy friday: {MAG}rouge feature

One of my favorite online resources for wedding eye candy and inspiration is Magnolia Rouge, a lovely blog owned by one of New Zealand's finest stationery designers, Kate Holland. Her inspiration boards are so creative and I just love her new color story series that's all about styling props based on various color palettes - oh yeah!

Last month, Kate launched Magnolia Rouge's first online magazine called {MAG}rouge and boy is it filled with all things pretty! I had the pleasure of doing a few calligraphy pieces for the cover shoot which was beautifully styled with the magazine's first issue theme in mind - a road trip!

Happy Friday!

Thanks so much Kate and I am looking forward to the next issue!
